Weeks 21 & 22 of building our tiny house on a trailer bring us to the end of our Tiny House story, for now. We had to set a drop-dead date to leave on our bicycles, before the really cool weather sets in. We could have continued to do a million things to finish our Tiny House and to make it perfect but our spirits are also wanting to fulfill another dream of living a life on a bicycle, of travelling slowly, meeting people from all over the world, learning from them, and bringing hearts full of knowledge and hope back to our home.
The last two weeks we finished cleaning up our supply piles, putting up gutters, building stairs, waterproofing the underside of our trailer, and doing a zillion other little things to prepare for our departure. We were feeling many emotions as everything came together in the end, and the Tiny House looked so cute and perfect — a part of us wanted to stay, install the wood stove and hunker down for the winter to finish the interior work!
We had a last minute gathering of friends and family to help us celebrate our blessings. The “Leave No Trace Open House Farewell Party” required that folks bring their own utensils, cups, and plates to the party, and to take them with them when they left at the end of the night. Although many folks couldn’t make it due to short notice and timing, we felt the spirit of everyone who has supported us through these events in our lives, thus far, and it was wonderful to just sit back, laugh, chat and generally be thankful for all that we have.
Thank You :: Live Your Dreams
Today, we’ve been on the road for a full week. It’s been a whirlwind of a change for us, a welcome one, and we’ve had time in the saddle to reflect upon how much we love and appreciate all of you. Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. We’d love to have you stick around and follow us on the road and then again, upon our return, when we will blog about finishing the interior of the Tiny House.
Lastly, we want to encourage everyone to LIVE YOUR DREAMS! No matter how hard you have to work to get there, it is worth it. You can do it!
